Hi, if you’re new to my notes, welcome! If you’ve read words I’ve shared already, hello again! 👋 😁

I’m putting this note out on Leaflet and will pin on Bluesky as I’m winding down towards a restful winter ~ something I’ve learned to do to keep my mood up and health good. You can read below how come.

I will however still be around ~ scrolling, reposting, reading, learning, enjoying nature photography and chatting/posting a little ~ so thought I’d pop an intro post up as I’m a fan when other folks share them :)

Some of what’s below I’ve shared before; however, there’s a new thank you to all the lovely folks I’ve got to know on Bluesky 🫶

I'm Emma Rose ~ a Mental Health First Aider, Poet, Mom and more.

I share a mix in the chatty notes I write, including:

  • Self-care and mental health tips

  • Relatable poems

  • Oh, and helpful climate care info

I share notes on Bluesky and Medium (I occasionally share free 'gift links' if you aren't a Medium member, yet love to read beyond small talk). Plus, I share a touch here on Leaflet now.

My notes are especially for you if you're loving, lonely or longing for a better world ♥️

As you're still reading, you're likely like me, and like to know folks more deeply!

Here's 3 things you may like to know about why I share what I do:

1) I trained as a Mental Health First Aider, and strongly advocate for self-care, because sadly there's a history of suicide in my family. Being mentally well is something I've worked to achieve. So, as I feel well most of the time, like to share tried and tested info from my lived experience that can help us go from surviving to thriving.

2) I used to feel lonely, so developing healthy relationships that are mutually supportive and genuine is something I'm also thankful I’ve achieved. In a time where many feel disconnected, I like to share about connecting in healthy ways as I know how awful loneliness can feel, and how good it feels to overcome.

If you’re reading this quietly (as l often used to), and feel lonely at the mo, I hope this gives you hope.

3) I care deeply about mitigating climate change and caring for our shared home, too, as one subject I studied is Environmental Science. Oh, and I've experienced climate change events that have felt terrifying ~ so that's why I’m a climate care advocate as well.

Plus, an 'About' note sharing about loneliness I've felt, and more

Well, it’s time for me to begin hibernating, and this note is one I wrote that shares why I do. It addresses depression and how planning pauses in our days, weeks, months and years may help. Gift link:

Depressed — Need Deep Rest — In Some of Us Could Depression Be Prevented?
By heading to bed an hour or three earlier? Pausing more?

I hope you can also rest if you need to.

I’ll be online enjoying scrolling ~ and chatting a little ~ while restful. I may share an occasional post (perhaps); however I’ll be back in spring fully with notes I write to help you 🌱

I hope for you a restful, healthy and happy winter season ❄️

Love, Emma 🌹

P.S. if you need encouragement to overcome the conditioning that can run deep ~ that pausing to rest is ‘lazy’ ~ here‘s a quote that highlights how powerful saying no to being busy is. It’s a powerful no to the extractivism of capitalism that has placed profit above people, wildlife and planet 💜

Living on this planet means we’re all part of nature’s cycles!

Choosing to notice ~ and aligning with them ~ brings us better health. It also disrupts the unhealthy system of extractive capitalism that aggressively extracts natural resources and people’s work labour to generate maximum profit for a few. At the expense of most people and planet.

Opting out of 365/27 hustle and busy - and saying no to buying more than we need - is a powerful act of self-care.

Notes I write are for you if you're loving, lonely or longing for a better world ~ to help you feel calmer, happier and healthier.
