Hello! These words are for you if you’ve ever felt different to those around you, or unusual in a new location. It’s likely something we’ve all experienced at some time, and can be a lonely feeling, can’t it?

The purpose of them — in my view — is to reframe what ‘weird’ means to us. We’re being encouraged to embrace our uniqueness (and inner Unicorns!).

Our ability to reach unity in diversity will be the beauty and the test of our civilization — Mahatma Gandhi

As the words in poetry speak to us in different ways, you may well receive something different from the poem to my interpretation — feel free to let me know your view below, if you’d like to :)

W.E.I.R.D

W is Wonderful

E Extraordinary

I is Interesting

R is Rare

D is Different

YES!

W.E.I.R.D is fab — phenomenal

Savour who you are

Be you fully

W.e.i.r.d’s variety

We’re meant to be Unique

Unicorns are special

Precious

Mythical

and you ~

are just as precious as they are

(not ‘weird’ as in a negative)

W.e.i.r.d is brilliant

Shining brightly

Being who you are

Let’s change the thinking

“Weird? Well yes, please 

‘Course I am 

I’m different”

W.e.i.r.d and Precious

Different

It’s how we’re meant to be

Individuals in a collective — W.E.I.R.D — that’s you and me
